FULL TANK GOES TO JAPAN (And More!)

The very first thing I did upon entering the Curzon Soho for the Big Fridge Film Festival was shatter a vase. In a clumsy attempt to shake the hand of festival organiser Conor to thank him for selecting Full Tank inadvertently collided with a display of flowers, scattering glass, water and petals all over the floor. Despite this minor diplomatic incident, we came away with an award for “Best Comedy”. I think this set the tone well for our festival run.

It’s been around a year since we wrapped post-production on Full Tank, and the festival response has been incredible.

We’ve screened at a number of BIFA-Qualifying fests, from our premiere at Crystal Palace to a return to Wrexham’s FOCUS Wales and an upcoming screening at Sunrise; we’ve screened at the wonderful Romford and Vaporetto, and in a sober reminder of democracy’s faults we got voted the “Audience Choice Award” at the Funny Life Film Festival.

Across May and June Full Tank screened at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, a fantastic event all-round with a terrific team. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to fly to Tokyo for this Academy Award-qualifying festival. Shout out to John for his bilingual Q&A with some really thoughtful questions for all the filmmakers.

Our next festival screening takes place a little closer to home in Lowestoft, UK for the BIFA-Qualifying Sunrise Film Festival, August 21st. For tickets to Sunrise and all other screenings, keep an eye on our film’s page below.
